Siren Sounds Choir repertoire combines modern pop, vintage soul and gospel-influenced tunes.
The Choir is run by vocal coach Ruth Moore who has extensive experience as a performer and song-writer, and teacher.
Over the last ten years Ruth has worked with people of all ages, abilities, aspirations. In this time, she has developed a style of vocal coaching that is both relaxed and informative.
Using techniques built on fundamentals at the cutting edge of vocal tuition, Ruth is able to make each session a unique and fun experience whatever your personal goals may be.
This means that while you are enjoying some time with other women who have the same enjoyment of music and singing as you do, you will also benefit from tips and techniques that will help you look after your voice and improve as a singer.
In her spare time Ruth enjoys spending time with her young family and you might even catch her performing on stage taking on leading roles with the AWMTC.
Ruth is a member of the British Voice Association and has qualified teacher status.
" The main motivation for starting up this choir was to create something for ladies who love to sing and who perhaps feel they need a bit of time for themselves to escape the pressures of day-to-day life and have some fun! "
The reasons for setting up Siren Sounds were....
-To create a vocal group that is vibrant, current, and something that you will be proud to be a part of.
-To boost emotional well-being.
- To build confidence.
- To provide a supportive environment whilst also challenging participants to achieve at a high level.
- To encourage new friendships.
- Most of all to relax and have some FUN!
Sessions include a warm-up, technique advice where appropriate, focussed work on learning two or three-part harmonies and polishing the songs to performance standard.
You will not be put on the spot or expected to sing solo if you do not want to. However, there will be opportunities to audition for solo parts should you wish to.
Water will be available for you at your convenience. You are of course welcome to bring your own.
New starters are welcomed at any time during a term.
